It is a female variety and will need a nearby male variety to help produce its small, tasty and attractive fruit. Vigorous, with thick twining stems, it can simply be grown just for its large, round leaves and can easily be grown up a trellis or other support to make a really beautiful, tropical looking backdrop to a patio, sunny fence or wall.
