Hydrangea macrophylla Hot Red Shrub Plants

A compact 'mop-head' hydrangea with a dense rounded habit and vibrant green leaves creating a perfect background for its large showy flowerheads. Blooms first emerge in delicate shades of pastel pink and mature to a vivid violet red. Extremely versatile, it will add a long lasting and evolving show of colour to mixed planting schemes, containers and patio borders. Tolerant of partial shade or full sun and thriving in any moist well-drained soil, hydrangeas are easy to grow and require only an occasional trim after flowering to look their best. If left unpruned, plants will grow to approximately 1.2m (4ft) in height and spread.
