Echinacea purpurea Magnus has a prominent dark orange centre edged by contrasting pink-purple petals which remain horizontal unlike many other varieties where the petals droop. The large flower heads are up to 18cm across will impress in the midsummer to autumn months.

Making a fine border display, these plants are easy to grow, preferring a sunny position in well-drained, normal to dry soil. They are drought tolerant and great for attracting butterflies and bees in the summer months and, when these blooms die back, the decorative seed heads become a winter food source for birds. These fabulous flowers are a worthwhile addition to any border.
