Forming thick upright bushes which can easily be shaped to suit their location, they are highly versatile and make a great focal point in mixed borders, large containers and can even be used as an exotic flowering hedge. Hibiscus syriacus prefers moist but well-drained soil and a sheltered position in full sun.
