Orlaya grandiflora
Known as the white lace flower, because of its pretty white umbels which make wonderful cut flowers. Easy to grow and drought resistant, perfect for wildlife gardens.

Early/Late Flowering:
Indoor growing instructions In trays of seed compost. Sow thinly and cover with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently, keep moist and cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 15-20°C. Germination takes 14-28 days. Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough transplant 5cm apart in trays. Acclimatise plants to outdoor temperatures from late May and transplant 25cm apart in final flowering position. Flowers June to September.
Outdoor growing instructions In a prepared seed bed in final flowering position. Sow thinly in rows 30cm apart and cover with a fine layer of soil. Firm gently and keep moist. When large enough thin to 5cm apart. After 3-4 weeks thin to 25cm apart. Make 2-3 sowings for a longer flowering season. Flowers June to September. Autumn sowings will flower the following year.
Tip Prefers poor soil, do not feed as this encourages excess foliage.
