Indoor growing instructions In trays of moist compost, sow thinly, do not cover seed with compost. Firm gently, keep moist and cover tray with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at a temperature of 15-20˚C. Remove cover when seedlings appear and when large enough transplant 5cm apart to further trays or pots of compost. Acclimatise plants to outdoor temperatures from late May and transplant 30cm apart in flowering position. Flowers July to September, the same year.
Outdoor growing instructions In a prepared seed bed, sow thinly in rows 23cm apart. Cover with a fine layer of soil, firm gently and keep moist. When large enough thin to 7.5cm apart. Transplant 30cm apart in final flowering position from September to October. Flowers June to September, the following year.
Tip Do not feed as this encourages excess foliage.
