Snakeshead Fritillary Bulb Collection
Gloriously distinctive, bell-shaped flowers will dance suspended on delicate stalks in various shades of purple (F. meleagris) and pure white (F. meleagris ‘Alba’). A delightful mix, very hardy and trouble-free, they do best in a moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade.
Invaluable in the spring garden, without the reliable and charming flowers provided by this group, the garden would be a dull place indeed. They will fit into any planting scheme and are so easy to grow and care for, they will herald the spring and prepare for summer, year after year. Top grade bulbs supplied.
Plant Class: Hardy Perennial (HP)
The Snakeshead Fritillary Collection is very hardy and trouble-free and will thrive in a moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade.
Plant 12cm (5in) deep and 45cm (18in) apart. Handle the corms carefully as they are prone to bruising. Put some coarse sand in the planting holes and place the bulbs sideways. These corms are very intolerant of wet conditions. They must be kept dry in their dormant period.
