Fritillaria meleagris Flower Bulbs
Gloriously distinctive, almost bizarre, bell-shaped flowers will dance suspended on delicate stalks in various shades of purple. Very hardy and trouble free, they are perfect for the light shade of borders and shrubberies or naturalising in grass or wooded areas.
Spring Bulbs
Invaluable in the spring garden, without the reliable and charming flowers provided by this group, the garden would be a dull place indeed. They will fit into any planting scheme and are so easy to grow and care for, they will herald the spring and prepare for summer, year after year. Top grade bulbs supplied.
Plant Class: Hardy Perennial (HP)
Habit: Upright
Early/Late Flowering:
Tough and easy to grow, they do best in a moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade.
Plant 12cm (5in) deep and 45cm (18in) apart. Handle the corms carefully as they are prone to bruising. Put some coarse sand in the planting holes and place the bulbs sideways. These corms are very intolerant of wet conditions. They must be kept dry in their dormant period.
