Anyone who is proud of the chrysanthemums they grow has the chance to win Woolman vouchers simply by taking a photograph of their blooms and submitting it to the mail order chrysanthemum company.  Woolmans is offering £300 in vouchers to the winners of the competition, which is open to both amateur and professional photographers.  There is a first prize of £200 in vouchers with two runners-up prizes of £50 vouchers.

Woolmans’ Tony Dixon explains the thinking behind the competition.  “We give our chrysanthemum plants the best start we can – but it’s what our customers do with them, when they grow them on, that makes them what they ultimately become.  We know many are passionate about chrysanthemums, exhibiting their blooms in competitions, whilst others prefer to create beautiful displays in their gardens and as cut flowers in the house.  We really would love to see the results of that devotion!”

The competition rules are simple.  All photographs must be of chrysanthemums only either in a garden or vase.  Send photographs to:

Remember to include the name and address of the sender and details of cultivar(s).  Please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope if photographs are to be returned.  If sending high resolution images by e-mail, please attach only one image per e-mail message.   Images must be no larger than 3mb and in JPG format.   The closing date for entries is 31 December 2010, and the judge’s decision is final.
