Woolmans 2010 Chrysanthemum Catalogue - OUT NOW!
Woolmans Chrysanthemum Catalogue 2010, which offers the biggest, brightest and best range of these magnificent late summer and autumn favourites in the UK, features three new collections for the new growing season to tempt seasoned enthusiasts, those new to chrysanthemums and lovers of cut flowers.
The Spoon Petal Collection and Anastasia Collection are especially striking and very beautiful. The Spoon Petal Collection, comprising six varieties, of which three – Mancebo, Evans and Pantani – are brand new, is a most intriguing range, all with unusual and distinctive spoon-like tips to their petals. They will reach a height of up to 5ft (1.5m) , blooming in an unheated greenhouse from November onwards. The spoon flowered varieties make excellent and long lasting cut flowers.
The Anastasias are offered as a six colour collection, all with their most attractive ‘starburst’ blooms which look like explosions of colour. Anastasias can be grown as blooms or sprays and make outstanding cut flowers. They too grow up to 5ft (1.5m) and flower in November and December in an unheated greenhouse. Both collections comprising six plants (one of each variety) costs £7.95, while a double collection costs £13.90, saving £2.00. Any variety may also be ordered individually at £4.95 for three plants.
The House Plant Spray Collection comprises six varieties all selected for their ability to perform well as flowering house plants from November onwards, bringing welcome cheer in the winter months. The plants grow no more than 12in (30cm) tall and produce delightful, single blooms in six distinctive colours. The price structure for the House Plant Spray Collection is as for the Spoon Petal and Anastasia Collections.
In addition to three new collections, many existing collections include new varieties, all of which have been selected by John Woolman, great grandson of the firm’s founder, for their excellent garden performance. Woolmans offer Chrysanthemums for both outdoor and greenhouse growing and stress that a greenhouse is not necessary to produce a superb display.
Most of the varieties featured in its many collections are also offered as single varieties in packs of three plants, with most prices held at 2009 levels. This flexibility also extends to delivery dates, as most varieties are offered for either early (mid March to mid April) or late (mid to late May) despatch.
All Woolmans Chrysanthemums are of the highest quality to ensure customers get the very best results. The well-rooted cuttings are sent out in specially manufactured packaging, to ensure they arrive in nursery-fresh condition. All are accompanied with easy-to-follow cultural instructions
The catalogue is also offering great deals on Chrysanthemum Lizzie Dear, Foxglove Camelot Mixed F1 and Arctotis Hannah. Chrysanthemum Lizzie Dear, featured on the front cover, is a glorious outdoor variety which produces large, golden yellow, incurved blooms. It is offered to everyone placing an order from the catalogue at just £3.45 for five plants, which represents a saving of £3.50 on the list price.
Anyone placing an order of £20+ may claim five plants of cottage garden ‘must-have’ Foxglove Camelot Mixed F1 for only £3.95 instead of the normal £7.95, while a spend of £30+ entitles the customer to five plants of the stunning Arctotis Hannah for £4.95 – a saving of £5 when purchased separately.
The catalogue also features an exhibition Dahlia collection, scented Pinks, perpetual flowering Carnations and fragrant Sweet Peas.
